Small town authentic Mexican food and I'm a fan. I ordered a chicken burrito to go and I did not wait long. They were friendly and fast and the place was very clean. The menu was bright and colorful on the wall as you enter.

The food was excellent and while I only ordered the burrito, it was hot and not overfilled with extras. I'll definitely be back to try more of the big menu and I hear the tacos are amazing!

Great tacos de carne asada, green chicharon taco was the bomb! Owner recommended the Rajas con queso but we were super full 5 tacos each what you aspect! We return today again and it was a different story maybe because they had a different Cook, but the tacos de chicharon ratio to onion and cilantro was very poor. The taco de Chile's con rajas was done with out roasting the skin of the poblano pepper and pealing it off, so it was tuff today they only earn two stars. But we will return again they have the BEST red sauce so far!

Great food!! Love it! Authentic flavors, and small hole in the wall feel. I have been 3 times and the food has been great each time.

    Deserves the **********
Excellent the place is small shack nice clean friendly very simple set up not fancy but food is great you can taste the steak and chicken flavor is not over cook and the food is not old ......everything fresh even the home made hot sauce !
My complements to the chef please don't get cocky just be consistent with the way you cook don't change nothing keep up the good work you'll see me again !

This place is my absolute favorite place to grab a burrito, tostadas, flautas, quesadillas, homemade flan...you name it! The service is always great and fast! I highly recommend this place to everyone I know!

La palabra lo dice todo sabroso!! No tan solo eso exquisito todo.

  • *****

Very good tacos. I usually get the steak and pastor. The price is a little high I would say but acceptable.

But I hear they make their tacos from Mexico and ship them here..... maybe that's why their so good.... but who knows!

  • *****

Yum!!!! I had this place bookmarked on Yelp and finally got to try it tonight. We ordered the steak tacos, al pastor tacos, chicharron tacos, guacamole and chips, and a steak gordita. Everything tasted good. I especially loved the chicharron tacos, which I find difficult to find in the Northwest Suburbs, and the al pastor tacos. I also really loved the red salsa that was kept in a plastic squeeze bottle condiment dispenser. I look forward to coming back and trying more food items! If you're in the area and want delicious no frills Mexican food, I recommend you give this place a try!

  • *****

We ordered takeout from this place and while the Decour leaves a bit to be desired the food is out of this world! I ordered the Alambre and savored every bite like it was my last on earth. Can't wait to go back to try more.

  • *****

The best tacos I have ever had! El pastor is my fav! Love this place! The salsas are also amazing and the chips are sooo god! Hands down the best place in the area for authentic tacos!

  • *****

First time trying this place and it was fantastic! The guac is kinda spicy (maybe too much onion?) but the food is SOO SOO good!

  • *****

Been coming here since they opened. Food is always hot and flavorable. Love the new menus on the wall showing the pictures. Nice touch. I left my wallet on time at work after I ordered. Owner told me to pay next time I stopped in (which I did). That was very nice to say the least. I always order the same thing- Steak Burrito (el pastor, carne asada). Very good..yum!

I work for Grubhub and I went this place quite a few times. When I was doing delivery today (which I had to take food from this place) I was pretty hungry and decided to try something and so I did. Guess what the tacos were really good plus they even gave it free for me since I was the last person who went there I guess. It was so nice of them. Definitely gonna go again not just because it was free it was DELICIOUS!

  • *****

Very good food, we work in the area quiet often and every time we do we eat here for lunch. I either go with the steak tacos or a steak burrito and always get a tamale. They are all really good. The tacos come with a good amount of meat on them and it is prepared well. The Burritos are also a nice size. My only complaint though is that they don't have pork tamales. They only ever have Chicken with either red or green sauce. They aren't bad, very good I just prefer pork. Service is good and fast, dining area is clean, kitchen looks clean, and it's easily accessible. A must try if your in the area.

  • *****

Love this place! This is my boyfriends and my go to spot for takeout Mexican. Just wish they still gave out chips and salsa with the meals

  • *****

Great Mexican food for vegetarians and meat eaters alike!

  • *****

Fantastic food! A must if you enjoy tacos or burritos! The staff is fast & friendly! I often place an order to go and within 10 minutes it's ready for pickup! If you are looking to try this restaurant, please do! I even think you get a discount on your first order using the Yelp app! Give it a try....You will be glad you did!

This is authentic Mexican food, served fast food style. The Schaumburg location has a small location for you to eat at (think breakfast counter) near the window and the side of the restaurant, but this is quick, takeout Mexican food.

Prices are not steap ($2.50) or so for a taco. If you order more, then your bill will be more.

But the veggie tacos are SUPER tasty. Taco Salad is above-average, and Gorditas are damn good (which is difficult to get anywhere else at any other Mexican restaurant).

Green (tomatillo) salsa is tasty. The Hot salsa is VERY spicy but still tasty, but they do have a medium salsa which the wife absolutely loves and swears by. But to each their own.

There are other locations I think, but this was the first one that opened up.

You will fill your palate. Quick, tasty, close by, decent price, and they are partnered with Grub Hub last I checked.

    Enjoy!

The service was very friendly and the food was delivered correctly and very fast. The food was amazing! I had the chimichanga and it was absolutely delicious! The horchata was very tasty as well! It's a cozy little place and I would highly recommend it!!

I consider myself a Mexican food connoisseur of sorts considering the number of different places I've tried around Chicago, Berwyn/Cicero area, and around this area.

Out of 5 or 7 so places I've tried in Rolling Meadows/Palatine/Schaumburg, Sabroso Burrito is the best!

If you like Pastor, ABSOLUTELY get the burrito (or tacos). If you don't know, try it anyway. Steak and chicken tacos are also good though. Not a huge fan of the salsa that comes with the chip order (a little too tomato-y) but everything else is good.

    Wife likes the Nachos.

    Kids (toddlers) like the quesadillas.

  • *****

Thinking about getting Chipotle or Qdoba? think twice!

Now you have Sabroso Burrito lol this is by far the best mexican food in Schaumburg, you won't believe how cheap it is to get food here, yet the flavor and quality is over the top!

We needed a real mexican place around. Thank you Sabroso Burrito!

  • *****

This is by far one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in this area. The prices are reasonable. I do wish that the tacos El Pastor still had pineapple as they did when they first opened, but they are still good now. The owner and the cook are very nice and humble. I definitely love this place

  • *****

I ordered the enchiladas with steak and it was good

  • *****

Very friendly family owned! Food came out pretty quickly! Kind of in a deserted plaza out by woodfield mall. I hope this place succeeds! But I don't think I'd ever make my way back here. Just too far for this food. Lol it was decent food! Price is right though!!

  • *****

Thank you so much for the tacos today!! They were delicious!!

  • *****

OMG, this place was amazing! Huge portuind and so tasty! Wish we had this is Wisconsin! The staff was very friendly and quick!

  • *****

Great food! Friendly staff! Chef is awesome! They don't have tables but you can still dine in and sit at stool/bar near window. Great carry out! They do make entrees for vegetarians also. I had the best veggie burrito ever! I highly recommend this place!

  • *****

Hands down best Mexican place in Schaumburg area! Carne Asada dinner is great!

  • *****

I really enjoyed my steak tacos. My only complaint was salsa for chips wasn't hot enough. I will be back again tho for sure.

  • *****

Best tacos ever! Food is amazing. Super friendly staff. I started working in Schaumburg 6 months ago. I'm a little mad at myself that it took me that long to find this place! I'll be a regular in no time now! Can't wait to go back for lunch again!

  • *****

One of my favorite local restaurants! I’m working my way down the menu and hope to try every item!

  • *****

Possibly the Best taco’s I’ve ever had. Nice size portions. Al Pastor????

  • *****

Best Mexican in the area! I loooove them. They get my order wrong sometimes but it's still good.

  • *****

Amazing food! I love their Steak Burritto dinner! For a small fastfood, their food is amazing!

  • *****

FINALLY some authentic Mexican food in the burbs! $2.25 for a taco? Reasonably priced, because they don't skimp you on the meat or the size. I do believe the chips and salsa should be priced lower though. The service was great and it was very clean inside. I found my new taco spot!

  • *****

For starters this is not a dine in restaurant setting. They a couple chairs and a bar to sit at but no tables. Not a bad thing just a heads up. Had the carne asada plate and it was delicious. Will be back

  • *****

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! The staff is polite and food is AMAZING! I always get the al pastor tacos and rajas and cheese quesadillas and 9/10 i always take a little something to go. I am always served quickly and the food always taste exactly the same as the previous time. I've tried places before where the food is always different. Not here. The cooks are great. I used to go to a different mexican spot in the area and i thought they were amazing after discovering this place I have got to say sadly i stopped going there. Sabrosos is by far the best mexican food i've tried in the area and I am mexican (sorry mom). I visit this place at least 3xs a month and i will no longer go anywhere else. Oh and they have a veggie menu and soy options too. YUMMMM!

  • *****

In my opinion this place is much better then Chipotle! Their chicken burrito is the best!! I eat there almost every week and will keep coming.

  • *****

Always delicious. We were so sad when Thai Pepper vacated this shop front, but Sabroso is the best Mexican joint around! We love it there.
They don't have the biggest menu necessarily, but what they've got is awesome.

Dining area is small, but does exist. Definitely not a sit down place. This is hole-in-the-wall take-out.

  • *****

This place was awesome! Well detailed menu and record fast service from very pleasant employees.

  • *****

Awesome food! The salsa is FRESH, which is a HUGE plus where I'm concerned.

We ordered the cheese enchilada dinner and the steak burrito dinner- both were excellent. I honestly cannot think of one thing to bitch about, lol.

Wait-- I thought of something. The location sucks, lol. I missed the entrance on Higgins during rush hour and had to make all sorts of maneuvers to get into the parking lot. I felt like I was in a scene from Fast and Furious, but I'm an out-of-towner, so it's mostly my own fault .

And in the end, it was TOTALLY worth it.

I'd have posted pics but we ate it too quickly, lol.

  • *****

Love this place. They have more Veggie Options than most places, and the Soy Pastor is FIRE!!! I recommend Vegetarians/Vegans like myself to try it out. Marco, the owner is also one of the nicest guys and very welcoming.

  • *****

Hands down the best food, the staff is very professional, polite and always courteous to the customer. food is delicious restaurant is always clean couldn't ask for anything better. If you haven't tried it you should you won't be disappointed

  • *****

Best little secret in Schaumburg. Great food, top notch service, friendly people, amazing lunch. There's nothing on the menu that I can't recommend. If you're looking for the best in authentic Mexican food, come here and skip the mundane of Chipotle.

  • *****

I saw their sign as I was driving down Higgins and decided to stop by. I'm glad I did. Very friendly staff and really good Mexican food if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. Will stop by again.

  • *****

I am always happy to go there or get an order from grubhub from them.

Their nachos are insane and they have a great Al pastor.

I have not had anything I did not like. Go there! It's great and simple.

  • *****

Good food, good service, always A+ and have never had any issues. We keep coming back!

  • *****

All I can say is wow I was pleasantly surprised. Had 2 steak tacos and they were huge and delicious. Also, ordered chips and salsa and was super fresh but lacking any heat. Prices are quite reasonable for portions size and this place seems to do quite the business with all the office employees nearby. Would of had a 5 star review had the salsa been spot on. Overall very good and I highly recommend.

  • *****

I'm in town for work and noticed this place was nearby. Stopped in to order takeout. Some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while! Great quick service.

  • *****

I've gotten takeout from here twice. Once, used a delivery service and once I dropped by on my way home from work to pick something up.

This time - we dined in. There are no tables, but there is a counter that runs along the windows with high stools. You order at the counter and pick up at the counter. The menu is limited. I've gotten burritos each time - my first visit was a Steak Burrito, the second as a Burrito Al Pastor. For this visit, I was so impressed with their Al Pastor that I got it again, this time as a Chimichanga.

Now, I am generally not one who eats a lot of deep fried foods. But this was delicious. The service was fast, and the woman who took our order at the counter was one of the happiest, most friendly counter servers I've seen. This was a person who clearly loves her job and it shows to her customers.

My only complaints - they did not allow the Chimichanga to drain after frying. It was just too oily and greasy. That did not change the taste. It was still good. We got an order of refried beans and also an order of Guacamole and Chips to go along with the meal. The beans were excellent as was the Guac. Also, if you like hot sauce, they have two bottled ones they make (one green and one red). Both are great, but preferring hot - the red one has a little burn to it.

This is growing to be a favorite of mine.

  • *****

Delicious tacos for a fraction of a prize! The Al Pastor was very flavorful along with their fish tacos. Definitely will be back!

  • *****

Really tasty tacos, especially the el pastor. They even have a vegetarian version that was very good! Kind, courteous service. We especially appreciated the tortilla chips and salsa while we waited for our order to be filled. Would not hesitate to come here again. Best to have this for takeout, though, as there is basically just some bar seating at the front window. That said, the interior is spacious, clean, and nicely decorated.

  • *****

My new favorite Mexican place. Steak tacos. Delicious! And it's just down the road from my workplace. I liked it so much, I brought the family to try it & brought some tacos home to my parents who loved the food as well. Yum-o!

  • *****

Ordered a steak burrito and it was perfect! Filled with a perfect amount of steak, beans and all the fixins... this burrito did not disappoint! We are from California... so we've been in search of a comparable Albertaco's-ish burrito in the Midwest! Glad we found something comparable. Loved the red sauce --- adds that extra kick that works well with the burrito! Will have to come back for the gorditas!

  • *****

Tacos here are awesome love to add avocado and sour cream on them.Nice clean plaza store.Recomended in Schaumburg aria.

  • *****

You need to try the goditas. They are the best ones I have had outside of Mexico. I just wish they had more seating options.

  • *****

I yelped for Mexican place and this is what popped up! It looked yummy! When we walked in we had friendly service and the owner seemed nice! We ordered and sat down and our food came out within 5 mins! The food was very good! I'm probably going to explore more of their menu next time but I just had a steak taco and a steak quesadilla pretty good price!!

  • *****

Ordered delivery with some co-workers for lunch.

Carne asada tacos: Tasty steak (with some nice fatty pieces, too!). I love that the pieces of meat are chunky, juicy, and not over seasoned. A little onion heavy, though... so be ready to refresh yourself with some mints or gum afterwards.

I added sour cream and avocado (0.30 add-on each), which were decent amounts. win.

salsa. didn't try the verde. but their hot don't play! definitely will threaten your life if you have a good tasting by itself, but a few dashes in my taco did enhance the flavor of the meat. tastes good, but use sparingly.

The horchata: eh. it's not too sweet, and I like that it wasn't cinnamon overkill, but was just your run-of-the-mill horchata.

I'll probably order again. it's done right. the corn tortillas were also good, and nothing to complain about.

  • *****

This is a pretty good authentic Mexican restaurant located like 5 minutes away from Woodfield mall and right next to the Harper College mini breakoff center. The steak tacos are delicious, and so are the hot sauces and the salsa they use, only thing lacking is no free chips and salsa and they are bit more expensive than their competition. Pretty good overall

  • *****

I order from here all the time, they are awesome.

    - the tacos are AMAZING and they customize on request
    - Their horchata is SOOO good, perfect companion for Mexican fare
    - the people that work there are so nice, and that always gets points in my book
    - you can tell the food is made from the heart
    - it's so fresh!
    - the pastor is a must-try
    - actually all their meat is good
    - consistently super fast, I always get my food a bit early when I order through GrubHub
    - prices are very reasonable
    - the location itself is very clean, something else that always scores points with me

    Highly recommend, all the time.

  • *****

OMG I just left this place, the tacos al pastor are soooo delicious!!! This is coming from a 100% Mexican women. The salsa is nice and hot and flavorful, the tacos are packed with meat! If you can come check them out, you won't regret it.

  • *****

Really good food. The enchiladas and burrito's near the top at being the best in the burbs. The chicken and steak had some magical flavors. The only thing missing was the chips and salsa. Would have loved to have that offered to me, even as a sample then pay for em'. This is an awesome little taco stand that is worth the effort of dropping a peso in!

  • *****

This place is amazing! I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food, but I'll try anything authentic and I think I died and went to heaven eating here. The staff was so nice and gave us free samples of the meat to try, and a free drink. They looked really happy to be there, and that made the experience all the more enjoyable

I got a steak burrito and the steak was awesome, everything was fresh, and they didn't put too much cheese on it.
To top it all off, I had chips, salsa, a drink and a (huge) burrito for $7. Now I'm just wondering how many times a week can I go without looking like I have a burrito problem.

  • *****

Excellent tacos at affordable prices is all I want from an establishment and they fit the bill. I definitely recommend Sabroso Burrito if you're in the area. I will come back soon!

  • *****

    Best gorditas ever!
I order 2 al pastor gorditas and they were phenomenal! The flavor was unique in every single bite, two thumps up for the chef! Great service! will be back when I'm in the area!

  • *****

Festive atmosphere, friendly service and tasty food ready quickly! I especially love the vegetarian marinated soy burrito, which I have not seen before! Yum!

  • *****

This place has good vegetarian options. I like that they make soy protein tacos that are a good attempt to match texture and flavor to the taco al pastor. You can order tacos and small quesadillas separately which is good if you want variety. They also have options for larger groups of people. I might try a veggie burrito, torta, or gordita next time. It has window seating but no tables or table service. There are no desserts on the menu. I think it's perfect for a quick lunch or takeout. It seems they deliver through grub hub.

  • *****

Tacos were really good. Friendly environment.. not pricey at all. Small spot so not a lot of room to sit. I had the pork and chicken tacos.

  • *****

When I was temping in Schaumburg, this was my GO TO place! The food was always fresh and delicious. The steak tacos are unreal, the chips were never stale, burritos were super filling, and the price was very reasonable!

I ordered through Grubhub and everything showed up on time and the food was still hot which was a pleasant surprise. Hopefully I can dine in soon and enjoy the full experience! Highly recommend.

  • *****

I'm from Texas ( home of Tex Mex)in town on business and found this place on yelp. This place is the real deal. There pastor (marinated pork) its up there with some of the best I've ever had. There pastor burrito was by far the best burrito I've ever had. There homemade red and green salsa is really good. I'm getting hungry now thinking about it. Highly recommend the burrito or the tacos. Great little hole in the wall find.

  • *****

I've lived here for 25 years and seen many restaurants come and go from the location, so I HOPE this place is here to stay! It's hard finding authentic Mexican food in Schaumburg so I didn't have many expectations when I ate here the first time. They gave me chips and salsa with my taco order which was really cool. The cook their meat to perfect (well, to my liking) and pricing is reasonable. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to eat! Only downside is you basically have to order to go but that's not an issue for me.

  • *****

Had lunch delivered from here yesterday...had the steak torta and it was really good. The bread was fantastic better than any other torta bread I have had. Co worker had steak tacos that looked really good. Would try it again

  • *****

Just made my second trip to Sabroso Burrito and it did not disappoint. This is basically a take-out restaurant. There is a ledge with stools in front of the window and a side wall with a ledge where you can stand and eat. It has an open kitchen concept which is nice to see them preparing the food. They offer standard Mexican-American offerings. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and gorditos. I decided to play it safe and order chicken tacos. Their tacos come with onions and cilantro on corn tortillas. Guac, cheese & sour cream are $0.30 extra. I ordered my tacos with cheese and took it to go. I only had to wait about 2 minutes until it was ready. When I got back to the office the tacos were very hot and packaged with some chips & salsa in the bag. As for the food itself, I thought it was really good. The chicken was really tender and seemed to be good quality but not only that but taco was so packed I almost needed a fork. I might have liked the chicken to have a little more seasoning so if you are a spice fan you will want some hot sauce. I made my second trip and decided to see if the food was consistent so I ordered the chicken tacos again. I think they were even better with more flavor this time.

So to summarize, really good quality food but recommend getting it as take out unless you want to stand. I'm looking forward to going back and trying their other items.

  • *****

Food was very good, but rather pricey. A taco dinner at my usual Mexican stop, costs 6.99. (And that comes with chips and salsa) The same thing here was 9.99.
No menu is posted, just a paper menu.
Fortunately, I had looked online before I arrived.
    Carryout is the only option.
Everything was very tasty, and there was plenty of food.
There were about 5 chips in the bottom of the bag that held the sauce containers. Thought that was strange.

  • *****

Very good service and food. Highly recommend

  • *****

We order lunch from here at work quite often and we all like it. I personally love the veggie nachos, and my coworkers love the tacos and burritos too. I like that you get free chips and salsa with every meal! The salsas are really good and so are the rice and beans that come on the side. I like that it is not very expensive and you also get a lot of food for what you pay for. We will be back!

  • *****

The burrito was very tasty, more of a take out place, at the moment, if they would get more stools then it could be dine in too. I might, most likely, be back.
I would have liked table service, and maybe chips and salsa complimentary , 2 of us had stools, one stood till 2 people left and the gentleman brought his stool over. And then only have cans and bottles of soda and water, and i feel a can of pop for $1.50 is a little to high. Again, the burrito very delicious.

  • *****

First visit I loved the food. The second time around it was just ok. I had the steak burrito both times. Their chips and guacamole i would recommend. Will have to try the steak burrito a third time before deciding if I should keep going.

  • *****

Found this place on Yelp, saw the reviews and are so happy with the choice! Marco is such a nice guy, the food is excellent and its definitely the hole in the wall place you were looking for. Recommended!

  • *****

I'm a Southsider and you get some of the best authentic Mexican food there so I was pretty sad to find out there wasn't a "standout" Mexican restaurant near by. I was driving by and noticed that my favorite Thai place was gone and replaced by Sabroso Burrito. I was skeptical on this place because most Mexican restaurants out here are average but man was I wrong. I came in on my lunch and tried the steak tacos and they are unbelievably delicious and well seasoned. You also get a great char. I also tried the rajas con queso gordita and it was also amazing. Most restaurants out here don't even offer that on the menu so I'm happy Sabroso does. Service is perfect and I've gotten free chips and salsa when dinning in (not sure if you also get it with takeout).

On another occasion I tried the pastor which was good but not great. Same goes for the potato tacos. I look forward to trying new things on the menu. I'm also glad they have such a big vegetarian menu so that everyone can try something!

  • *****

good stuff, well made. grub hub delivery was a little timely but once we got our order, it was good. i will be ordering again!

  • *****

    The Service is great
Food is fantastic. I discovered this place yesterday went back today my new fave.

  • *****

First time there tonight and I tried the marinated pork burrito dinner. The burrito was awesome and good rice and beans. My husband tried ground beef torta and a steak taco. He loved the torta. Taco was good but did pull out a fatty piece or two of steak. While we waited for our food they handed us chips with their shredded chicken on it as well as the spicy salsa so we could taste their chicken. The chicken was delicious as well as the salsa. I loved the chicken and the marinated pork the most. Really friendly staff. We will be back soon.

  • *****

I have had this place bookmarked for a while now, and unfortunately I was not able to be there in person but my mom had a work lunch there and brought back a half of a vegetarian burrito and it was absolutely amazing. All the ingredients were fresh- even though i was eating this burrito hours after it was made. There were two sauces and they were both amazing and unique- the red one had a smokey flavor and was good- but a bit too spicy for me and the green one was just perfect for my taste.
I want to come in and try the torta for my next item there!

  • *****

This place has some great burritos! Avoid the rice filler you get at Chipotle and come here for some meat wrapped in a tortilla. GET THE CORIZO (Mexican style sausage).

Also, the guys working there are super nice! And they even throw about 15 chips at the bottom of your take out bag.

Take out only with standing bar if you want to eat there. No chairs to sit in.

    Great food stop!

  • *****

Steak Burrito? Yes! Taco Salad? Yes! Delicious Vegetarian Options for gf? Yes!
They have amazing tortas, too. Try the Cubana. It's a heavenly mix of steak, bacon, ham, and cheese in a saucey torta.

What happened to the tables, though, guys? I really liked those.

  • *****

Literally the best burrito I've ever had.. chorizo burrito. Hot sauce on the side. Authentic. Amazing. It was $7 and I'm so full and happy, I'm like Buddha.

Also, while I waited for my take out burrito (which took like 4 minutes) they gave me a small bowl of chips with cheese and grilled steak to munch on to pass the time.

It's rare to have an amazing TAKE-OUT experience, and then to get home and have the best Mexican food ever made my night.

    Highly recommend!!!

  • *****

Tacos al pastor are the bomb! Great prices and fast service.

  • *****

Awesome food. Had chorizo tacos dinner and they were delicious.

  • *****

Awesome authentic mexican food, reasonable prices, great selection even for vegetarians and vegans and there isn't much seating available but I would not change anything about it! Just found my new favorite mexican restaurant in the northwest suburbs

  • *****

This is my new local burrito place.

Sabroso translates to delicious in English and Sabroso Burrito whips up some very delicious eats.

I haven't been to the restaurant to see the interior, but I've ordered takeout twice (husband picked it up). The most recent order was a flavor packed burrito of sorts - we doubled up on the meat (chicken and steak) and went sans carbs for a fajita type meal. That's important to note - they are super friendly and accommodating.

Our burrito bowls were chock full of fresh veggies and perfectly cooked and spiced meat. I'm salivating thinking about that meal. My daughters split an enormous burrito that could have fed each of them for two meals...so there's that.

And don't forget the guacamole. Guac on lock, my friends. Super awesome all the way around. Sabroso Burrito has earned a shiny spot in my takeout lineup!

I came from out of state and looked for a Mexican restaurant and this was close. I ordered tacos al pastor and they were DELICIOUS! I definitely recommend this place!

  • *****

Tacos de papa are amazing! My favorite thing here. I love that they came up with a vegetarian section on the menu. Taco salad is good too even if more expensive and bigger than other taquerias around. Employees are so nice!

  • *****

I love this place! Everything about it is amazing!. The customer service is great, everyone is very friendly. I recommend everything and anything from here.

    Simply delicious food!

Unlike most Mexican restaurants, they actually toss in a little FLAVOR according to their name sake; they really throw it down and you can taste the marinades!

  • *****

Great burrito with quality chicken! While I waited for the burrito, the woman at the register gave me chips and salsa with steak and pork samples after I told her I was Sabroso virgin.

Food in here was very authentic, great price, excellent quality and super friendly staff. I was really pleased with everything. The decoration is pretty cool and lively. The music is fun and upbeat. Overall a great mexican restaurant with great prices and great tasting food.

Just became a regular! Greeted by a very friendly gentleman who asked if it was our first time visiting. Since it was he brought over a sampling of nachos with 3 different meats to try! All were amazing! I ordered the chicken flautas- generous portions, moist chicken, beautiful presentation! Fianc hates authentic Mexican food but LOVED this place!!! He remarked how it was the only burrito he ever had that wasn't sopping wet with grease. Guacamole was the most fresh that I've ever had in my life!!! We also ordered Jamaican water and horchata, both delicious! I was full very early on but continued to eat because the food was that GREAT!

This is an excellent find. The food I have tried there has been outstanding. Better than other Mexican restaurants in the area. My favorite was the Chicken Burrito, which sounds pretty boring, but it was really excellent. I don't normally expect to use the phrase "delicate flavors" for this kind of restaurant, but that's what I experienced here.
Don't come for ambiance. Brightly lit with a white tile floor it doesn't look anything like most Mexican Restaurants. Four or five small tables. I think of this primarily as a carry out restaurant. With excellent food.

Stopped in on a Saturday to give it a try. I was impressed with the ambience, brightly decorated and clean. This is basically a taqueria, for quick Mexican food. If you dine in, they deliver chips and salsa to your table. The chips and the salsa were fresh and nicely prepared. I ordered a steak burrito as I feel this is the standard test when checking out a new burrito stand. I was very impressed, high quality carne asada , mixed in with fresh ingredients sliced in half and served on a nice plate. The rest of the menu also looked inviting. Good spot , for a quick Mexican meal.

I am in the Schaumburg area a lot on business and I may have found my new "go to" restaurant. I stop in this evening for a quick bite. I had two tacos Al Pastor. They were two smaller shells absolutely packed with meat.

The restaurant was clean and the menu was easy to understand and affordable. There were five or six tables that would seat a total of 15 people approximately.

The service was very quick and I always enjoy being able to see my food being prepared. They don't have fountain drinks which I would've preferred. I received a bag of chips with my order tonight and I would rate them slightly above average. I really enjoyed my food and that's what matters above everything else.

We had some carne asada tacos and they were excellent. The meat had a great flavor, hardly any fat, which we prefer. The customer service is great as well, and the staff were attentive and prompt. The restaurant is small but the ambiance is cozy welcoming. We will definitely be coming back. We highly recommend it.

This place is amazing, you can tell the chef seriously loves making food and the service is fantastic and quick. Not good for large groups with only one table with space for 4. Solid ambience and plating. But the food pushes this rating to 5 stars, absolutely fantastic

Finally went to this place last Saturday after driving by it every day on my way to work. We were not disappointed. I got two steak tacos (cilantro & onions only) that were fantastic. So much meat that they could have easily made 3 or 4 tacos. My wife had the Cuban torta and it was crazy good. There was steak, bacon, ham, avocado lettuce, tomato, beans & cheese. All on a very delicious, soft bun. It was HUGE. The guacamole was decent but a little light on the avocado (a lot of onions & tomato). I will be a regular at this place.

A chill place with delicious food and great service. I had the chimichanga and was not disappointed.

Randomly found this place and just as they were closing and they were happy to have us. We were just getting something quick to go so we got pastor and steak tacos.
As we waited one of the cooks brought us each a sample of their steak and pastor with house made chips and it was amazing. Great atmosphere, really bright, well lit and great service. Tacos were delicious.

Food is SOOO good. Salsas are amazing, the Al Pastor is out of this world. The people are really nice, and the place is clean!!

So I pass by this Mexican joint everyday and the marketing always appealed to me. I popped in with my fiance, who is a first generation Mexican-American. So her word is important.

We both agreed that this restaurant is authentic and good and affordable. Definitely love the interior that is very colorful and alive.

I had the Mexican Sausage with cheese burrito and it was fantastic. Meanwhile my fiance had the nachos. She enjoyed them as well.

Great location right off Gold Road and we will definitely come back again. 5 stars and well deserved.

    Greatest Mexican food in Chicago.

Everything that I have tried at Sabroso Burrito is amazing! The carne asada, pork, tortas, enchiladas and burritos are so flavorful that it keeps us coming back. And their salsas are so delicious that we are always asking for a few extras to take home. This is a wonderful restaurant and I hope that everyone tries it, I promise you will love it!

I've ordered from this place quite a few times, and i think they deserved this 5 star review. I usually have the el pastor tacos and the gorditas. they are alwasy on point with the food and the owner is nice enough to always include a small batch of free chips and salsa to my order every single time. One of the best thing about this place is that their salsa is always fresh, and that makes a big difference for me. I've been to alot of places with decent food and terrible salsa, but this was not the case. I totally recommend this place and they deserve more attention!!!!!

All I gotta say is, if you want delicious Mexican food that is cooked fresh and is authentic, you should visit Sabroso Burrito. (I'm pretty sure it's authentic, but I'm not actually Mexican. So, can't be completely sure. Me saying that is more of a disclosure, so that if anyone who is Mexican visits this restaurant, I don't catch any flak if they disagree.) But, yes it's a great family owned place. They're friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Price wise; it's like eating at Chipotle, but I'd say Sabroso Burrito trumps them like it's trying to win the presidential election. I'm not a Trump supporter by the way. I highly recommend the Chimichanga. You're probably going to have to run a couple miles after eating that, but I promise you, for the first time in your life, you'll think that run is worth it. Their menu also caters to vegetarians and vegans, so don't let all that chimichanga nonsense scare you away. If you go there, say that "Ashar" sent you. It's spelled that way, but it's pronounced "Usher". However, I don't think you'll get anything out of it. I'm just wanting to get some recognition there.

A+ this was so much better than the other burrito placed available. Go check it out you will get great service and great food at a good price.

This place is so awesome. We came here the first time and couldn't decide what to order. So they gave us some steak and marinated pork with chips to taste. They were both amazing!! Staff is super friendly and food reminds us of Cancun trip we took. My husband got chorizo burrito and he describes it as "sex in his mouth" lol. Authentic and delicious. Must try!

Amazing service and amazing food!! We are definitely making this a regular place to go. The queso is the best in town!

Sometimes you click on 5* "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" and you click on that because you feel sympathetic toward the people who work there, or you were in a good mood then, or you want to join the bandwagon, or you were drinking that night.

In this case, 5* "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" is simply a fact. Found it thanks to Yelp, on a sojourn from MDW airport to Madison, but had plenty opportunity to get tempted away on the way there. Stopped and looked at a new Middle Eastern chain (starts with 'R') but the plates of kebab and rice looked really sad: little piles of starch next to meats that had sat in tubs too long. Then stopped at a new beer emporium - - couldn't resist having a beer, but could entirely resist the pizza, that looked like big glops of cheese and accents atop a thick layer of pointless starch (starts with a 'B' which might be obvious).

But the burrito at Sabroso Burrito? Excellence. An elaboration upon the theme of "burrito" that takes it to the essence, and zooms the concept to new heights. The decor at Sabrosa has basic elements, but is done with clean beauty. The practicalities are ultramodern (swivel pay station with tip options tappable) and everything sharp and easy, but the warmth and charm and caring of a traditional taqueria are still very much present - - and in some ways crafted to perfection.

Then there is the burrito - - it tastes FABULOUS. It is beautifully and caringly constructed (not the dumpathon and slopathon you find at chains like 'Chirito' and 'Quipotle' where the main ingredient beyond the flour tortilla is another cheap starch: rice). It is also a work of art. Seriously, the al pastor is seared to perfect temperature and bursting with flavor (definitely NOT decaying-in-a-tub flavor), and the whole is constructed both visually appealing, and, like, a flavor bomb.

And the red and green salsas: more superlatives apply. This place was worth fighting off the allure of nouveau crap chain fare, and driving a wide berth for. And the people who work there are also, still, 5* SERIOUSLY wonderful.

A surprising gem of a place in Schaumburg. Vegetarians will enjoy the tofu creations. I loved the queso and chile gorditas. Affordable, friendly, great portions and most importantly, packed with flavor.

I have been looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant in the schaumburg area for quite some time, and I am so so excited I found this place. It's pretty small, so might be hard to get a table at certain times, but definitely worth it! We went during lunch time - we got the soy chimichanga, the soy taco and a veggie gordita with a side of guacamole. The gordita was standard, but I was very impressed with the soy taco and chimichanga. Chimichangas are usually deep fried, so they are usually a bit oily and heavy. This was different - it seemed more pan fried, lighter yet still crispy. The soy in the tacos and chimichanga was so flavorful and well marinated. I'm usually not a big fan of soy because it usually ends up being pretty flavorless and bland, but I really enjoyed it with this meal - this did a great job with it! The salsa they initially give out to each table was also good - I enjoyed it more than the actual hot sauce served with the meal. The guacamole was also good, however I wish they served it with a plate of chips. It comes in a bowl with 5-6 chips on top of the guacamole, which is not enough to finish the bowl with.

The service was nice, however you could tell they're still a bit new because the lady helping us had to go ask someone for all of the questions we were asking about the food. I'm sure this will get better with time, as they've only been open for about a month.

Overall I really enjoyed the food and will definitely be back!

Great food !!!! Stumbled upon this place randomly, to my surprise it was clean and staff was very friendly. The offered a sample of the meat - which was delicious.

I ordered steak tacos - delicious. My husband had enchiladas - even better !!!

I will come back soon - favorite Mexican restaurant by far!!!!!

Hands down the BEST Mexican food I've had. We ordered our food at the counter, then ate in the restaurant. It was super clean and the staff was so nice! The woman behind the counter preparing all of the food served us a sampler plate of chicken and pork nachos, free of charge, to try, along with some red salsa. Delicious! The pork was absolutely fantastic. The salsa was very spicy, but tasty. She then brought us our meals - I ordered the Steak Taco Dinner. The tacos were prepared street taco style, and added avocado for a small surcharge. The steak was marinated so well and cooked perfectly! I didn't even add salsa to the first taco because the meat was juicy enough! I did try the salsa verde - it was good, very similar to what you'd get at any other small Mexican restaurant. My meal also came with rice and beans which were also on point to what you'd expect. I also got a Horchata which was absolutely delicious!!! Full of cinnamon, but just the right amount. My husband ordered a Steak Burrito and loved it! We can't wait to go back! (Probably this weekend.)

+ Pastor torta and service was very good. - All items are a la carte. I could have used some more heat in the provided salsas.

Ok so tacos and authentic mexican are a very hard thing to find in schaumburg area so i had to give this place a try. I did togo 3 tacos mexican style 2 al pastor and 1 steak. First of all this a new restaurant and u can tell the staff are new at this and trying to get into the grove of a business. Tacos were very small for 2.25 a piece. Meat was okay and salsas are bland and not much flavor compared to my original taco place in hanover park on army trl road. The food is qaulity and fresh just need minor improvements. I would go again because authentic mexican is hard to find in this area
They need to add a 1$ taco day!!!
Also i was given a free single serve bag of chips

Love this place. We come here way too often. The food is excellent. In fact, its better than any Mexican food i have even had in Chicago. The red salsa is especially good and their chorizo is a must.

The music and decor is so bright and festive and the staff so friendly and energetic it's contagious. They basically won me over right away by bringing out mini nachos while we waited. Yummy horchata and delicious food. We will definitely be back.

I am always on a quest for authentic Mexican food. Sabroso Burrito hits the mark! As store front restaurant go, one could wish they had more seating. I was able to have a seat in the mid-afternoon and it was very peasant. The staff is friendly and attentive. I had two ground beef tacos with tomato, lettuce and cilantro. Boy! when the cilantro sits just a little bit, the taco becomes a whole new eating experience; so, eat slowly and enjoy your food. As a new restaurant in the neighborhood (to where I work), I will be back.

(Adding a few weeks later) Hey, they have added more seating and have given thought to how to provide as much seating as possible in a small space. Also, awesome food with an excellent price)

Excellent service and even better food. It taste like real Mexican food plus the restaurant and kitchen was really clean. Give it a try! Will be back for sure.

Came in a few days after opening, and got a great burrito and flautas. The flautas were huge! The carne asada for the burrito was nicely seasoned, and had a nice char to it. They also let us taste their vegetarian al pastor, and I could not tell the difference. I'll be back!

I cheated on my go to Pancho's Burritos in Schaumburg. These guys were right up there.

Get in there and give them some business yelpers.
